ISO 45001
Every day, workers around the globe are killed or injured as a result of workplace accidents. Many employers don't pay attention to the safety of their employees despite the fact the majority of these incidents could be prevented. Implementing an OH&S Management System is therefore so important. The new ISO 45001 standard is a ideal framework to establish these systems.
The ISO 45001 standard uses the same high-level structure as other management systems standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, making it easier to implement and integrate. It also considers that OH&S requirements vary from industry-to-industry. Construction workers, for instance have different OH&S requirements than those working in pharmaceuticals. This is why the standard was developed to be flexible and allow companies to create the program to meet their specific requirements.

It can also improve the reputation of your business and increase its image as a responsible business. In addition, it can help you reduce the cost of injuries and lowering the cost of insurance.
The standard has seven clauses however the most important are Clauses 1 3, 2, and 3. You must identify your OH&S requirements and then create an OH&S policy. You must also evaluate the risks your company faces and take measures to mitigate them. It is also important to ensure that your employees are educated and are equipped to prevent accidents. You must also communicate to your employees and stakeholders the importance of safety and health at work. This can be done through meetings, presentations, and newsletters.
